Uncovering the uncertainties that humans are only now figuring out about one another. Learning, unlearning, and understanding the processes in of how design can facilitate a conversation about gender, despite our different perspectives and chosen paths in life.
THE BRIEF
This project is dedicated to the gender-variant community, the educators and supporters of the greater gender expansive social justice movement that is forever underway, and to industry professionals who both unknowingly and knowingly influence our self identities, self-concepts, understand how we form perceptions and relationships with one another, and are fearless in finding human equality through the allowance of individual freedoms

The theories explored in this project have been processed through secondary and primary research methods under the lens of Human Centered Design with a specificity of intent and deeply human curiosity for this project.
After each theory has been thoroughly researched, overarching data points are collected, affinitized into clusters, and summarized into the most important information points.
From this, relationships between the three theories and their data are determined, and clusterings of data are developed, linking cross-theoretical relationships that provide key insights to drive opportunity, criteria for design, and physical offerings to augment and facilitate understanding, empathy, and progress.
Gender is a fluid spectrum - a grayscale, if you will - presented and performed by an individual’s freedom of self-expression (especially through fashion). It is legally and linguistically separate from sexual orientation and biologically assigned sex however, more often than not, these concepts are used interchangeably which is incorrect.
